Theresa O'Malley Yoga Pose

Theresa O'Malley

"Theresa is a wonderful and extremely talented yoga instructor. Her teaching encompasses many different yoga styles along with thoughtful words regarding mindfulness. I have taken her hot flow and Yin classes for several years and am impressed with her skills as an instructor. She can lead a room of 25 or more students and still make the individual yogi feel they are having a one on one session. She is extremely knowledgeable about human anatomy from her education as a physical therapy assistant. As an instructor she will often propose modifications and adjustments that can make dramatic improvements in a person’s individual practice. She is approachable for advice and can walk an individual through the steps of a pose or flow. I have advanced my practice under her guidance. She values safety above all else and her supportive style eliminates the feel of judgement in her classes. On multiple occasions I have structured my attendance based on the availability of her classes. I am confidant she will make an unparalleled addition to your studio." - Danelle

I am a Physical Therapist Assistant and a Yoga Instructor with a 20-year personal practice. My experience as a PTA influences my yoga teaching styles and vice versa. I love peppering my classes with anatomy snippets, while keeping it light-hearted and certainly with no quizzes. I welcome getting to know my students and their personal goals, so I can help them as best as I can.

I teach a wide spectrum of yoga class formats, from Gentle Stretch to Hot Power. I keep my classes multi-level and for all ages. It is incredibly gratifying to play any part in a student’s journey and to see them surprise themselves. I love teaching no matter, but there is a special place in my heart for arm balancing, inversions, and guiding deep stretches. I have a knack for teaching crow pose to those that do not believe it to be accessible to them.

I live in sunny New Mexico with my husband and 3 Basenjis. I love listening to music. I enjoy most styles of music, but Prince will always have a key to my musical heart. I plead guilty to Netflix binges and a weakness for chocolate.
